why do stories with sex workers always end with them quitting? they never show a healthy relationship where the characters still date and one of them is doing their job without being shamed for it or having their partner want them to quit, they act like sex work isn't a good enough job and yes it's not the most safe and consistent and you cant do it forever but it's still a job nonetheless

maybe because he didn’t like it and he did it because he had not other choice, it would have been awful if had to continue…. is not just a job if you are forced to do it, and most people do it because they don’t have a choice.

he wasn't forced to do it, at first yeah ig but then he said he continued to do prostitution to save up for a trip or whatever and he was shown working other jobs so he could've quit sooner but he didn't want to also in one chapter he said he stopped for the seme (lets not forget how he kept shaming him for it)
ppl need to stop treating sex work like its always forceful and a last resort option bc its a job like others if it gets you money it gets you money and its done with consent most of the time

honestly if you don’t see that he didn’t have a choice since the beginning and the he resigned himself to it we can not have a proper conversation. Forced does not mean that a person is threatening you, it can also mean so many things (income, family situation, opportunities, the society and place where you live, raze) is not the same for everyone, just because a 10% does it make look like is good and is a luxury it doesn’t mean that is the rule, when a 90% suffers it greatly. Is not just a job and is not a good thing, but i will agree on the shaming part, no one should be insulting someone for having to live through that. Do you actually think that he would choose to do that if his parents have a good situation? Those classmates forced him to do it, is not okay. Later he thought he couldn’t be anything else, so he didn’t chose it he was forced to it.

as a law student i can assure you is not a choice 90% of the time and in this case he was forced to it since the beginning is just awful to think otherwise, when he didn’t even like it and the consequences of that kind of life are awful and heartbreaking maybe you should some research on the matter

Because in most part of the world, even in developed nation. Prostitution is an unprotected occupation where it's worker usually got involved not by their own volition but by lack of choice or straight up trafficked. It's not that unusual for people to change for safer better paying job with better environment when the opportunity rise isn't it?
