I don't think he's being homophobic here. He's shocked that his friend, who has been like a brother to him his ENTIRE life, has feelings for him. This is the friend he grew up with, the friend he walked to school with every day, the friend who he's shared everything with. He even called him family. In the mind of blondie, they're brothers. That's where the disgust is coming from.
I said "homophobic vibes", I didnt call him homophobic. Whats makes me say that is 1st: he said "thats creepy" when he got kissed, feeling uncomfortable, being surprised, rejecting the kiss its all fine now "creepy" is a a poor choice of word.
2nd he makes a really hard effort to think of it all as a joke and when he finally is confronted with the harsh reality he avoids touch so...yeah I can clearly see an over the board "fear". I think your PoV is valid though I just cant see it as simply normal disgust, to me there is a spark of homophobia in it.
I think creepy is the right word. If your brother tried to kiss you, how would you feel? Disgusted. Creeped out to the max. Angry. Confused. Betrayed. He's feeling all of these things at once. His reaction is pretty normal actually. And yes, they aren't actually related but in his mind, they are close enough to be brothers. So this is a reality he never even considered.

Like you said they are not realated. Imagine if instead of being a guy if his friend was a girl, a neighbor who he always saw "as a family member" if she kissed him he wouldnt say creepy, he wouldnt have that over the top reaction, considering how desperate he wants a girlfriend he would even LOVE IT, in worst case he would just feel really bad for her and say its impossible, BUT since his friend is a guy he feels "angry" "betrayed". So nope, dont buy it dont agree. Still smell homophobic scent in the air pointless for us to keep going on this discussion though, ty for sharing ur opinion. Closed.
