I don't really like the dynamic either and I know why I feel that way. Anne is so obviously written to be a perfect "Mary Sue" type character. And since she's the love interest instead of the main character she's probably meant to be the "perfect girlfriend" type Mary Sue. She's literally the best witch being the strongest and having the flashiest power and being the most useful. She's also constantly wear a "cute" outfit that shows off skin (but not toooo much) and she fawns all over the MC and is completely in love and loyal to him. And she's ... young and naive. Yeah.... ok.
That's why I don't like the relationship dynamic that much. Sure, age gaps can work but seems a little gross when someone writes a perfect character to be a perfect girlfriend and then also writes them to be on the younger side.
