He can learn new grip so quickly (he learned change up in one night, narumiya only has one change up but he has 3 and he learned it in one night!!!! He threw a cutter in the middle of game without any knowledge about it!)
And he only learned about baseball properly in highschool so it makes sense that he was so behind others but he's already as dangerous as other schools' aces now when he only gave his all in 1 year while others had learned real baseball from elementary school (lets not forget that furuya's grandpa was a pro and he taught furuya baseball).
Being hardworking is one of the factors, yes, but no way he can learn that fast if he's not gifted. His baseball learning ability is what makes him the true anime MC because in reality, someone likes him is almost impossible to exist

Let's not forget that Chris-senpai himself has said so,he said that sawamura has a really flexible body and that's a natural talent for pitchers and promising athletesヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~ Also,do you remember? When all the players from other schools being nervous about hitting his pitches bcuz it's a moving fastball and the fact that it's rare among Japanese player to pitch like that. Though I too felt bad when Eijun thinks that Miyuki chose to open up to Furuya rather than him.... I can't agree when you say Eijun isn't naturally gifted.
He is. Remember his naturally moving pitches. That is unique to him.
And he just learning how to nurture it. And it's just been 2 years. But see his progress. From knowing next to nothing about baseball and not having a proper coach or someone to teach him anything.
He can even learn a breaking ball overnight and improve pitches on his own.
And that's what you call a natural. He was born with that.

I feel so bad for sawamura:( he isn't as gifted as the other pitchers so even when he tries his best it never rlly is the best? If u get what I mean, ig he felt dissapointed when miyuki senpai chose to tell his thoughts to furuya bcuz he rlly thought they trusted each other. I hope it doesn't affect his next game badly ╥﹏╥
