The king is a jealous and possessive man, their relationship started to fall apart when the emperor took interest on Yu because of his clan (they have some kind of hidden treasure and they are the only one who knows the key and place) so the emperor planted seeds of doubt on the king and Yu’s relationship basically the king thought something happen to the both of them so he thinks he’s “dirty” even if Yu tried to tell him that he loves the king using the dice where he carved his name. the king crushed it along with Yu’s heart so he vowed to move on and to leave the palace but his mom got kidnap and he thought it was the king who did it then the emperor showed up and took Yu and told him he’ll help look for his mom and get revenge, but the truth is the emperor is the one who took his mom, when the king attacked the emperor Yu heard that the emperor was the one who took his mom and the king knew everything from the start, Yu’s clan etc. the king planned everything from the start then his mother died and Yu blamed the both of them. The emperor for killing his mom and the king for manipulating him and not telling him about his mom if he did he might have been able to save her. So know the king is trying to win Yu back but he’s being shitty about it lol.

And somehow Shen Yu gets trapped in the middle.. The two both used Yu because apparently he's the (literal) key to finding it. But they eventually developed feelings for Yu, both became obsessed with him..
Shen Yu now fed up with both powerful and influencial men, he is totally done, Yu wants out.. And now his mom died, the only solution he could think is to take this old man's poison for himself.

So basically what I’m getting is that Yu got hurt in someway and like they’re betraying each other?? I can’t keep up. I literally have no idea what’s going on, and sitting through this so far has been really hard. And like everything is so messed up
