i disagree. he sees the crown prince treating her like shit and he said that she's staying in the engagement for her own benefit/saftey. Just bc she's doing it for her own saftey doesn't mean she has to endure hell and constant ridicule from her fiance and his mistress. It doesn't mean he wants her and the crown prince to be friendly in that sense but in a way that makes it so she doesn't have to endure pain (& can live comfortably).
