had a similar encounter. supported a friend and her crush. held gatherings so she can invite him, but sometimes he show up late or doesn't show at all (its quite apparent he wasn't interested at the point) turns out he was gay :) It is what it is
I also have gay friend he understands me more than any guy could but when he told me he is gay I stopped looking at him that way he already has boyfriend so all I can do is support him and enjoy my time with him as a best friend ...
