I also feel the story is not going with the flow, at the start it was about hana and maki's lovey dovey life and the food they cook. Bu now it is about breaking up and opposing the grandfather. (NO HATE BUT ALL THAT BL DRAMA)
There are some inconsistencies in this story :
First hana talks about how maki exploded rice in the microwave, but in the past it is shown maki can actually cook.
Also Maki claims thay hana was his first everything, but turns out he actually had a boyfriend before.
