I agree, the plot's shifting and singing's becoming the main focus, which really isn't necessary. Tbh, it's getting kinda boring, but I'll keep reading lol.

well, folk songs are every other song that doesn't have a religious meaning, and in her past life the empire was controlled by the church causing a war and is probably related to the death of her family member. therefore she said it herself, she's against singing anything that praises the church.
but even tho i understand why she is singing and all i must say, the story is getting boring and being dragged for too long, the love interests relantionships are complicated and the prince's actions are hard to follow with no explanation of why he's doing it ╮(￣▽￣)╭

yeah that's the reason, she wants to go against the church, so she refuses to sing anything that is good for the church ((and folk songs are every other non-religious song))
so she is starting the revolution by making people open up to music so in the future they will question the church actions if they try to prevent the folk songs and etc

The story was bout her goin back in time to save her family from misfortune. And In my honest Opinion I feel she should just frick politics and Have a secret stash of money and runaway with em. But then the story wouldn't progress. But the fact that it has came to her singing Folk songs and forgetting the main reason why she got a second life again is just what?There are so many things I forgot bout in Lady Baby because of the fact its dragging on for too long!
