I did read in an forum or something (forgot the name) that Saitama eventually shows up and fights Garou, it also said that he used serious punch on him but not enough to kill him, he also planned to just knock him out and not kill him since Garou is still a Human and not a nmonster.
There's the webcomic by ONE (the original creator) which is miles ahead
