It's a losing the gender roles thing in a romance, I like historical novels and manhwas etc, where a lot of times a female character wouldn't be realistic, it would feel forced. Also I like how the ML are in focus rather than some barely relatable heroine. Bl and full out porn are also different things
Im not mlm but i am wlw so i feel like if you see two boys together, dating or friends, when you compare them to your bl characters, it kind of disregards all respect. Bl is fiction but gay men are real people and deserve to be treated like people and not like your favourite couples from your stories. If you enjoy bl, thats fine, just like Gl, but if you link real lgbtq couples to your fictional couples its kind of dehumanising.
When you enjoy Bl solely for the smut, thats even worse. And if you put yourself in any of the s3xual participant’s shoes/want to be in their place, you are fetishising gay ppl.
But thats what i think and again, im wlw (bisexual) so any mlm can correct me if im wrong
once again, you cannot compare straight people to gay people. we are not on the same level. you can read bl without fetishizing, but the comparison of straight to gay is not valid. straight couples will never be looked at like sex objects in society, meanwhile gay/lesbian people are.
