why tf are people downvoting the comments where we’re expressing our discomfort with always being misrepresented in manga? like not only our clothes but also our names (a quick google search will tell you that we don’t use “Laz” and “Ruru”) religion, institutions etc. are being portrayed as violent and exotic (or oriental here) and that makes us upset. cope! we don’t live in palaces in the desert and kidnap people we don’t dress in abayas 24/7 and carry swords. there’s no such thing as “the arab nation” or mf “Arabia” and homosexual relationships are extremely frowned upon and are illegal so no, no political/important figure will publicly announce their relationship. if you want to to portray an arab or any person belonging to a group of people that isn’t your own do it right or don’t do it at all and only speak about what you know
