Oyasuminasai is formal you can use it for family tbh. Oyasumi is informal.
That's right. But I was stressing the point on the oyasuminasai so no one accidentally makes a Japanese acquaintance uncomfortable by being direct. But 外国人 will get a pass, I suppose.
So informal "oyasumi" only with family and the formal "oyasuminasai" for both family and everyone else I suppose....Thank you for clearing that guys
