I'd agree but uh I dunno if it's like that in this case- I think it's on original Charlotte I mean girl swapped bodies for this man but he fell for our Charlotte meaning that it was her personality that fucked her over in this. Girls a shitty person and duke probably didn't love her for it but when she 'changed' he liked her yet he's not in love with the princess who he would've, maybe should've, been in love with so don't just blame the duke cause it 'could' be him being disgusting or it could be OG Charlotte being that bad that he wouldn't love her in whatever she possessed

Oh no its definitely like that in this case. He explicitly "fell for her" because she DIDNT like him. He sees her and presumably other women as objects to win or conquer rather than people. Charlotte sucks as a person but that's not why he never fell in love with her. He never liked her because she wasn't a prize he had to win, she was a person who loved him already and he didn't want that. He sees the women in his life as objects whether they like him or not and its all in the challenge of the chase to gain ownership of those objects. He wouldn't like mc if she liked him because he doesn't like HER he likes the game of collecting her like a rare prize.
I totally agree!! Ik this particular man is written to be a chauvinist pig who is unlikable but I've seen too many male leads who were supposed to be hot or dreamy who were unabashedly total fuckwads like this guy. Thinking about it doesn’t make us less dysfunctional - we most often don’t even know how badly mysoginistic our own education and models can be - and how badly we already treat ourselves
These models we continue to transmit to both girls and boys - the best way to raise your boys rand girls well, is to focus on freeing yourself from loads of crap (probably much needed) a healthy equal relationship with your partner - it’s probably won’t be easy too, but maybe that how we can really change the future ;)
