when she told him that shes not the real penelope she was in a very distressed state and he just believed her, told her that he doesnt care because he loves her and not the "real penelope" and comforted her for a long time and yeah like peperoperolina said he was a little afraid of penelope returning to her world and leaving him alone (he had insomnia and other stuff because of that fear i think) and honestly i get that because he expressed his love for her a lot more than she did, sometimes it felt a little one sided so he wasnt sure if she really loved him like that but in the end she often reassured him that she loves him and that she wouldnt leave him so yeah it all worked out
