they all belong/raised by a pedo. There seems to be a deal that the oldest will be the one getting all the sexual abuse. Once they turn 17 they 'leave'. which could be that the pedo kills them or they are let go, more likely killed since that is how things go and no one else has returned. And in this situation those two fell in love. They seen others come and go and know what happens. That is why the one keeps curling up in a ball and the other accepted his fate.
