Based on the novel actually,
Mongryong and his sister has traumatic past. His sister (we say halfsister) has been physically abused by Mongryong's mother. Because of her past, she cannot speak. Also, she lies to tell truth out of trauma and fear. In fact, his mother is a fucking slut (so his 'father' is kind of questionable). Also, Mongryong becomes rebelious when his mofo mother commands him to steal the money collection in his class where he was arrested. The past reveals by his sister when Jeha visits the temple where Mongryong grows up in his childhood.
At that time, Mongryong secretly leaves the temple to avenge Jeha's father. And by the way, Mongryong's revenge is very humiliating, funny, and outrageous revenge....
