While I'm sure the ML was a pawn in most of what happened and had no personal desire to kill the FL's family, I still don't like him because of his shamelessness. The king I can understand. The king is obviously a massive asshole who thinks of the FL as a possession that he simply took back from a brother who "stole" her from him, and probably genuinely can't understand why she's not acting like a good little girl after he "saved" her and returned her to her rightful place as princess. But if the ML truly loves her so much, he should know how important her family was to her, and the fact that he has shown her zero regret so far really gets under my skin. I really hope this is addressed in later chapters, like he volunteered for the mission because he didn't want strangers to be the ones who killed his old friends or he can't show the FL any remorse because the king has people constantly watching him, because right now he just seems like an idiot and a jerk.

Lol, I can see a lot people disliking the ML right now for what he had done. The entire family massacre incidence is still shrouded in mystery, not a lot of facts have been told about that. The story will keep going back & forth to reveal what truly happened that night little by little. So don't worry, it will be addressed, it is the crux of the problem after all. And the ML isn't really such bad guy, I know it's hard to believe rn, but we'll get to see his sincerity later on. And yeah, the father really is a massive a-hole everybody will love to hate. I think you're gonna hate him more & more as the story progresses. At least that's how I feel after reading about 20 chapters or so. There are a string of unfortunate small coincidences that caused the rift between the father & the uncle, & I get that not all of it is the father's fault. But how he decided on things & his actions after that were what sealed everybody's fate, all the way to the next generations. That's how big of an impact he was, & so I put most of the blame on him. The FL is the biggest victim here, she was literally being cornered to the brink of insanity, all through no fault of her own. She was quite content living as a commoner in that small house, she doesn't want for power or opulence. I really can't wait to see the flashback episodes on the father's younger days, coz there are so many things I don't quite get while trying to read on my own. I literally have headaches trying to understand what's happening, lol.

Sorry father?' Are you referring to the one who raised her or the one who is currently the king?

I'm referring to her real father, the current king. The one who raised her is her uncle, the younger brother of the current king.
