thank you for the input.
ps it’s not that i hate female characters in action/fantasy types it’s just they’r usually depicted as weak, or a “damsel in distress” who is ALWAYS saved by the mc. authors typically do this for that sub-plot romance, which really bothers me bc i’d love to see women being represented as anything other than the typical “weak-link” who’s desperately in love with the mc and whose decisions are always based upon how the main guy will perceive them.
i see that a lot of people favour her too so i’ll probably love her just as much. thank you again for the help!
Tbh I 100% agree with you and that's the main reason why I usually drop isekai/dungeon exploration mangas. The authors always try to find a reason for a female character to latch onto the mc and I know that by now people probably hate it when I asked ahead of time if a certain manga I'm interested in has romance or not cuz I don't want to waste my time on it. I've seen so many of the same tropes that I get scared whenever a female is introduced into a manga but I think this one has potential!
exactly, the authors unnecessarily add in usb-plot romance which usually isn’t even good due to the mere fact that the girl is usually underdeveloped in many aspects, which isn’t her fault but it’s the design she’s given. this results in her being the “weak-link” who ends up being saved by the mc who plays the typical “knight-in-shining-armour” trope when it comes to the romance. i really hate when women in these genres don’t get the recognition they deserve and usually play the part of the “caring group member” instead of allowing them to contribute much more. i’m not one for romance in theses genres bc they usually come up with some pathetic bullshit ass reason to have the girl cling to the mc and fall desperately in love with him so i’m with u when i ask if there is any romance bc i’ll most definitely hate it usually.
Spoiler Alert
Before any of that, In his first life, she sacrificed herself, don't know why. She was not whiny or anything. She will be strong after the first phase. I don't know whether she was into him or not but there like great friends. She was not a weak woman in the first place. She could stand on her own without him. She is currently my fav female character in a Male mc storyline. She is great. Fuck she also gives chill in the latest chapters uploaded.
i also don’t want romance, yet, i haven’t read it so i’ll start now! but the reason being is because i’ve heard so many amazing things about the girl and it’s just that i don’t trust the author to not simplify and ruin her character to add in some trash sub-plot romance in which they go through typical boring and shitty cliches only to end up in a mediocre relationship. she seems amazing and if they did end up together i’d be so happy, but that’s only if they don’t go through terribly degrading stereotypes like:
“the damsel in distress” who after she’s saved bc she’s “incapable” desperately in love with the mc. or
“the love triangle” it’s an unnecessary trope to begin with, all it does is cause issues. i don’t want them going through unnecessary shit and pain and frustration if their relationship was already great to begin with. there’s more but yeh.
i really hope that if they do include romance, they don’t take away from the characters abilities or self in general just to include something so disappointing like romance in an already great relationship and in an already great manhwa.
i just read the first chap- pls plssss tell me theres no sub-plot romance with the his fucking childhood friend.
i dont usually like sub-plot romance in action since most of the time its just useless and unnecessary drama, THIS THO looks super promising so i am wondering if i should continue reading?
