I thought they did sort of talk. I think princess blushed and tried to rub off his reaction toward the MC during sex. I could be wrong. It seemed to me that the MC confides in him and told him about the horrible Homophobic dude. I agree tho, we don't see much of a deeper interaction between them, but the sex.
