I guess unresolved and conflicted emotions after the death of her mother caused her to find it hard to express herself plus became a shut-in girl- that is why therapy is important, you guys! I mean a new mature MC is a tick in my list. Anyways, giving somebody the silent treatment is not a good idea if you are planning to continue a relationship. Tell them what is causing you distress and worry. If they are dismissive and/or try to point out the times you have done something similar/condescending then you should probably step out of that relationship. This may show you they do not really value your POV/emotions accordingly imo though it is up to you. I dont mind the smack part though XD

By the way, anyone who flirting with others just to make their partners jealous is totally a jerk ass move and all around toxic. Please dump that person if you're dating one. Or if you love that person give them a good smack and a year of silent treatment before forgiving them
