omg your last reply reminding me the title of Eunjae’s manhwa sent me down a rabbit hole of rehashing long repressed memories of my Buddhist teachings. (Replying here bc that thread is becoming outrageously long lol)
“Transmigration Through the 6 Realms” presumably refers to the 6 realms of existence in Buddhism - God, Demi-God, Human, Animal, Hungry Ghost, and Hell.
I’m convinced each of the main character was inspired a different cycle of the realms (God=Yama, Demi-god=Geumsun, Human=Eunjae, Animal=San (in the blissful ignorance sense), Hungry Ghost=Hwan, Hell=704) but the realms also applies to one’s psychological states and interestingly I see each character in a different realm psychologically than their physical state.
704, for example, is more psychologically in the human realm as he’s close to achieving enlightenment that will free him yet Eunjae, who’s human, mentally sought the same blissful ignorance that belongs to those in the animal realm. Geumsun, who’s a Demi-god, is clearly in hell.
