He didn't tell her to disappear, he basically said he would. Like a "fine, I'll just go away forever" kind of temper tantrum cuz she rejected him.

She literally told him that his feelings weren’t real. I would be angry too. Who the fuck is anybody to tell me that my feelings aren’t real? Yeah, no. You act like she’s the only one who should be hurt, not him, when his feelings were rejected in that way. It’s not bad that she rejected him, but the way she did was cruel. She could have said something like how she wasn’t ready, but no, she flat out told him what he felt was a mirage
Actually re-read that part. She said what he SEES is a mirage. Basically, that he thinks she's very strong and great, but she knows she's still very fragile and any relationship they try to have wouldn't be equal at all.
She didn't say his feelings weren't real. Just that the feelings are for the person she will be in the future. She's not there yet.
I second this. I also re-read it and what I got from it is that she meant to say what he sees (in her) is a mirage.
Plus, what I understood from their relationship before is they both have a mutual "unsaid' understanding before that both of them might just work, it's just they need time to build up whatever it is that they are lacking so they can both be upfront with their feelings without having to deal with any backlash. And it seemed to me that the duke kind of wanted to rush their relationship because he was getting pressed by the both princes.
Hey I'm not pointing fingers here, but I think these are also worth mentioning to see that both sides have their faults.
Remember when he said she wasn’t ready for a relationship yet & that she still has things to accomplish??? Anyways, I saw a comment that said how harmful the duke’s final words were to her & how it could possibly affect her. And I’m curious if it will show that in the next chapter. Like he told a woman who has no where else to go & has found happiness by his side with the other servants “to disappear” basically. Idk in what way he meant by that but hearing those words would surely crush her. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
