Mmmmm. I think that’s pretty much how kirin feels. He told kang about how he didn’t see the diff between him and those people kang slept with as sex friends. I think kang does feel something for kirin but sexually, he likes it when Kirin feels humiliated and the reaction kirin has when being pushed to the edge bc 1. He wanted to get kirin out of a depressive slump and not give up on himself and 2. He was a person of interest bc the sister who was the first ever to not give up on trying to understand him wouldn’t shut up about.
But to Kirin it’s better to be something than nothing because he wanted to be a special existence to kang. That doesn’t mean that kang knows how to empathize and try to be nurturing or be service like bc thats just not his character. and kirin doesn’t want the kinds of acts of service that felt rehearsed or mimicked which psychopaths are known for in order for them to be perceived as “normal.” He wants kang to do things to him out of genuine desire.
I think so too. I know that love does not compute for Kang, but I hope they find a middle ground. They just need hugs and praises, hugs are undervalued (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
