So, basically Maya is a rare albino omega and is considered a messenger of God. He is not to be touched and the King plans to one day sacrifice him and return him to God, gaining blessings and prosperity. He chooses the sacrifice to be for Bard to have children.
However, Bard had fallen for Maya and loved him. He had believed Maya had been gifted to him and when he found out Maya was to be sacrificed he visited him in his cell, bit his neck and bonded. Maya (who was willing to sacrifice himself for Bard to be happy and to never see Bard with his wife anymore) asked only to be bitten and consumed. Not eaten like yummy food, but devoured sexually by the beastman he loved. He then prepared to die for Bard the following night.
When the blade fell to return the albino omega to God, Bard took the damage. He spirited Maya away, abandoning all he loved and valued (King and castle and nation he ruled) to be with Maya. It was his one and only wish to be with his messenger of God together forever. When he wished that, Maya stopped fighting that Bard put his kingdom first and embraced the one he loved. Again he asked to be eaten by Bard, and the story ends with them making love to celebrate their overwhelming love and commitment to each other.
