This reminds me of a novel I was reading before.
The other male ended up roughing up his pregnant male partner because of jealousy...
The pregnant one was brought to the hospital, separated to the other male...
Later, he was told that his partner and their child was lost ( if i remember correctly)....
The pregnant later owned a library/book store with their child...
They met again in that library but the other male seems to have lost his memories of his previously pregnant partner...
The novel was written with alternating past and present for every chapter...
