In one of the chapters he was leading Mabel through the castle without even seeing the place as though he had lived there and he said he’d rather not attend the ball in the first place. I think the prince also mentioned having a brother but doesn’t say who.. all of that foreshadows Phon being related to the royal family in one way or another. Is it really that unexpected?
