I don't usually ship non-BL characters myself... heck, I don't even ship most BL couples unless they have really amazing bond.
But I guess it's because Mikey and Draken meet my personal taste for romance: delinquents, childhood friends, strong bonds, and they save each other. :")
The only BL ship I love is Baji x Chifuyu. I love Emma too much to ship her guy with someone else, lol.
