I don't think Nine has been acting like that due to the spirit. I would've believed it if he started having feelings for Melissa in the middle of their story but Nine already has feelings for Melissa the moment he was saved by her (a.k.a. taking him in to make him her dance partner for the ball). i doubt it's not that much especially when you saw his look when he was given his new fangs or when Melissa almost died fighting his twin.
Throughout the story, his feelings' development was actually pretty good and it was normal. He was saved, given a new hope by Melissa and Melissa even gave him a new pair of fangs and took him in so I don't think you can say his feelings is not that much
Spirit or not, his feelings would've continued to grow. And after we saw the spirit, there's not much changes in Nine. Only the original male leads of the story so I feel like they'll only be the one affected. Like the prince for example and her younger brother. So far Nine is still Nine but yes, there's still the possibility of it. Can't wait to see what happens
im not saying at all that the spirit is the sole reason why nine likes melissa. anyone can see he likes her it's just that his feelings might have been heightened by the spirit as it did w the crown prince's and melissa's brother which were both complete 180° with how they acted towards her before.
but it might not be the case too just like u said since nine isn't one of the starting male leads in the story and was originally just an extra which means he might not be affected by the spirit at all and his feelings rn, all of it, are real.

Yes both theory might be possible. I can't wait to see what happens and I hope the spirit doesn't touch Nine because Melissa can just repel the other male leads (≧∀≦) And if she likes Nine then she won't fall for any of the male leads even if they tried pursuing her

oh they're getting together? what a shame. i like nine and melissa's dynamic together but i thought she'd end up alone considering the fact that nine's feelings for melissa weren't all that much to begin with but might have been heightened due to the story being tweaked with melissa becoming more or less, the official protagonist of the story- replacing yuri in that endless cycle of being the protagonist and having all the male leads flock to her.
what im saying is nine is mostly only acting like that bcs he's a male lead and is now drawn to the story's protagonist- melissa.
and isn't melissa dating nine would just reinforce the identity of being the female lead she'd been given? if the spirit we saw talking w yuri had indeed change targets to melissa, melissa now have to break free of the endless cycle of protagonist and i don't think her being w nine is going to help that tbh
