I feel like the main reason many don't like the female lead personality is because, let's be honest, is cringe worthy. We all have met anime/manga fans that fangirl like that in public and can be uncomfortable.
The fact that she does it with real people reminds many to kpop fans, or just idol fans in general. I can understand not liking her personality, she is a hard order fan who seems to have forgotten the difference between reality and fiction.
I will still continue the story since I personally don't care.
