I saw this one vid on tiktok and now im confused. If one person does not support the lgbtq but still respects them, is it still considered homophobic?

No it’s not, because someone belief/religion (like mine) does not support that. But being homophobic means that you’re calling them out for it and saying that’s disgusting, etc. but if you don’t support it you still respect them as a person whereas homophobics are judging them. Like I don’t support LGBTQ but I respect them and still see them as humans and considers them no less

I saw that too but I know she clearly says she CAN'T support it because of their religion but she still respect lgbtq because they are humans too. It's not really homophobic.

i dont have an idea of that tiktok but,,"t-thanks f-f-for respecting my existence~~<3" bruh

so they dont support someone holding hands/having sex with same sex but they so-called "respect it" anyways? naah unlike beliefs/religions, gay people actually exist and breathe so idk i wouldnt even bother talking with someone saying "i respect it" like its not a thing to respect in the first place, thats how people are. sk idk if its homophobic or not but just sooooo weird imo

Is just put it on reverse, like if you say you don't support religious people because you see as unnatural i person who belongs to a religion, but i respect than as humans?

    Haven't watched the video but...
Scenarios like this, whether they can't support the community because of their religion/beliefs or they don't support them at all, does not qualify the person to be homophobic. The fact that the person respects the community is already a great act. Respecting other people is a way of saying that you accept them no matter how different they are. Just think how ironic a person would be if he/she supports the community yet doesn't respect them at all.

The idea of 'LGBTQ+ Community' is something a person cannot just fully support because of their religion or beliefs but they can always respect the people in the community. That's why it makes no sense if we say that a person can support the community yet rude to them.
