My guess is she is based off of an American Kestrel or an Mauritius kestrel. The Kestral is rather small and only about the size of a dove for many species, and fits her profile pretty well, but is missing some facial markings for the American type. The Mauritius type seems to match a bit better.
Most Kestrals in fact are rather small, and many species of falcons are not that large actually, most of the time the number given for their size usually refers to their wingspan, which is often much larger than their beak to tail height.
So I believe she's a Kestrel of some kind, but the exact sub-species I'm not positive on. *Oddly enough the Peregrine falcon is very common in Asia, Europe, and North America, but she looks nothing like that and I suspect that a more European falcon type was used for this story.
what I wanna know is why she is such a tiny falcon, she looks like songbird sized and I know shes young but shouldn't she be getting bigger???
