I wanted her to fangirl for a while, then maybe for him to do something for her that the others have done in the past and for her to then have a moment like "ah, this feel different some how?"
or maybe he realizes that a lot of her words have double meanings and tend to make the people around her misunderstand, but he notices because he's "the one" and somehow pays more attention to her. maybe since she only knows he has brown hair, and he can apparently make his eyes look black (?), she doesn't recognize him for a while and tells him things the others don't know like she's confessing her guilt to a stranger while drunk, and only realizes it's him when herrace says something etc. etc.
idk just something......better? the chemistry in my eyes wasn't as instant as author-nim probably intended, so his likability (and attractiveness butthat'sjustlikemyopinionman) was already way below the others for me. even herrace was more likable instantly due to his bratty persona and quirky fashion sense, so dan needed something extra to make him stand out. as is, he feels too plain and generic in my eyes ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Ngl I almost dropped it wen I saw she was falling for him but I came back pretty quick coz overall the story is jokes and I love it (=・ω・=)

but I'm honestly not vibing with dan as the ml. this is just my PERSONAL FEELINGS AND OPINION (don't get it twisted), but I feel like the pacing got kinda wonky after he took the spotlight and cain and eugene were made to leave. it felt like he and litia fell for each other wayyy too quickly, and herrace was just kinda....gone until he wasn't? idk, like dan just kinda disrupted the flow of things in a way I felt herrace didn't when he was introduced (though it was kinda funny how everyone just kinda....accepted him being around like a stray cat lol). it felt like the story was rushing to put the duo aside as quickly as possible so dan could shine because it/author-nim knew that their more dynamic rapport with litia would distract from the the "real" ml, which is dan. 4.6/10 sir my heart does not flutter. （￣へ￣）
I have zero interest in the princes' love life, and the emperor is the worst, most dispicable, most self-serving "father" I have ever seen! like, what, you feel like shit now that your daughter has pointed out to your face how much you suck? oh woe is you you poor thing! so what does he do? ignore her wishes and force her to spend the (as far as he knows) first of the only two years she (again, as far as he knows) has left in a place she has just said she actively wants to get away from because he'd feel bad if she left with just memories of her being neglected. okay, fine. but then he doesn't even attempt to visit? or talk to her? or send her gifts? you're the emperor but you left people continue to talk shit about your (as far as he knows) DYING DAUGHTER behind her back? no, absolutely not sir. in the fucking trash!
