The story tries to make her out to be some kind of independent woman but she's constantly tripping over her own feet and there was no way she was ever going to take over as her family's heir anyways, she's weak as hell and I don't think she ever does any real fighting even though she's a knight. Plus she has no personality beyond being smart, pretty, and nice to people.

The prince also has no personality beyond being smart and having a rough childhood because daddy didn't show him enough love or something. After they both fall in love the prince starts to always go on about wanting to respect Aristia's decisions but he never actually does that and instead stalls or constantly works to dissuade her from dissolving their engagement. ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
