You tried to backtrack by saying you were feeling heated when you said it, but you literally tell someone who expresses suicidal thoughts, 'Cool. Not my problem.' You're technically not wrong; their life is not your responsibility, but realise that your words have weight and can genuinely affect others. A little bit of empathy goes a long way. Then you further backtrack once some SA survivors explained how they use these kinds of stories to cope. What once was everyone, now became everyone but with exceptions. The problem though is that YOU don't know who are survivors and who are not; no one does unless they offer that information themselves.
