Okay I keep coming back to this manga JUST cause of the ending. I have to disagree with the comment below that it was unnecessary. The author had this vision in her mind at the beginning and honestly if it was some normal happy ending I probably would've forgotten about it but I digress. It's very realistic, people die suddenly even when it should just be a happy ending. When I first read this back in 2016 I HATED the ending as well but now growing up and experiencing loss. I realise you are talking to a person one moment and then the next moment they are gone forever. It's painful and it ends up being something you carry for your whole life as seen by the time skip after Subaru's tragic death but you have to keep on going "living". The what ifs will always be a curse and the melancholy nature of Muras life after Subarus death is perfectly realistic and beautiful.
