From what I remember in the novel, Lucas did do many very annoying things before he died, but Arthur made sure not too kill him too soon. However, because off how extreme Arthur was with Lucas, he did get handcuffed.

I read pretty far in the novel but didn't ever get to have the satisfaction of seeing Lucas die. Or maybe I did read it, and I now forget ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Honestly, it’s been awhile since I read that part of the novel, right now I’m just waiting for the updates so I can’t really say where it happened, sorry. But, I do remember that Arthur made sure he didn’t kill Lucas right off the bat, so that would mean that Lucas had a pretty painful death.
Wait, I actually skimmed through the chapters and searched it up. The scene where Lucas died should be around chapter 96 - “The Storm” if not that chapter. (⌒▽⌒)

Some shit happens with lucas and he gets into some cult shit and then he beats up tess and shit and fights arthur and dies, but then lucas's big bro pops in and beats the shit out of arthur and arthur gets sent to jail.
MAJOR PLOT SPOILERS
um he dies at the school attack right before the alcryans take elijah. so what happens is when argona's people attack the school arthur isn't there yet because he was doing something with sylvie and Cynthia and lucas had tess cuffed up and he said a lot of stuff about raping tess after he killed arthur to elijah n elijah freaked out n used alcryan powers n then argona's people took him away. And that's when arthur comes in with sylvie but sylvie is like full dragon this time n they swoop in on lucas and tess n him became separated. When arthur gets down from slyvie he ignores lucas and goes straight to tess to check if shes ok, but in doing that he makes lucas made so lucas goes rambling on abt he would kill arthur n make her watch and how he would rape her right in front of art's dead body. After hearing how lucas would take advantage of tess he attacks lucas n reveals his quadra mage powers as well as his two devient powers. N after beating him he steps on his balls n crushes them let's him writhe in pain and then kills them. But after he kills him, lucas' brother, bairon (he is one of the lances, to be specific he is the guy In the last panel) and bairon gets mad at Arthur and demands that he gets arrested. Because of that Arthur is in prison (in the novel it was for like 10 or 20 chapters)
