I still like this manga

Yup I still like this manga despite all its flaws because I think it’s interesting.
I don’t care that Chloe is using tea to fix every problem. In the first place, she reincarnated into a country that was tea-less so it kinda makes sense for her to use tea to solve problems (it’s not a coincidence, its fate like the fact she met Alphonse). It doesn’t mean that tea is the answer to everything, but her knowledge on tea is one of her biggest strengths and I think it’s creative that she can use her one specialty in many different ways to help people. It also doesn’t mean it’s the one and only answer for every problem she encounters but it’s one solution that exists out of many. I will have to call out two arcs though: the first where she mended the relationship between a noble and his daughter-in-law because I don’t think they’ve fixed an underlying problem in their relationship. The second is the scurvy incident bc I’m not sure if rosehip tea actually provides enough vitamin C since it denatures at high heat? I could be wrong if someone wants to correct me.

Secondly, I don’t think she’s too OP just because she knows about tea (we can also note her business/accounting skills). She still needs support from other characters to tackle certain challenges. One problem I have is that everyone in the story credits Chloe when it’s clear other characters played a role in fixing problems within the country e.g. Alphonse’s finance/influence/intellect and research with the gin incident. The king rightfully gave Al part of the credit as well when he said it was ‘all Chloe’s idea’ which was nice. Mrs Fortnum’s role in convincing Chloe to start a tea business and spreading the word about tea is also important (and her husband for investing in it). And the engineers that helped make the CTC business come to life should be credited too. I would definitely like other characters to shine more, especially the commoners and other noble women, though I like Chloe’s presence in the story enough that I’m okay with the focus on her.

Also about the prince, I won’t defend him but I can see why he has devolved to stupid. The guy needs a friend to tell him to chill (like he’s a literal loner rn if no one noticed) but he doesn’t have the resources to recognise his jealousy let alone how to deal with it. It’s natural to feel competitive when you’re in a one-sided love scenario and he is too immature to have any empathy for the real problems happening in his country. Basically I don’t think he has a bad heart but he is still very dumb and needs proper guidance and experience. I doubt anyone had the guts to address his behaviour before this either. At least his ex fiancé had Chloe to talk to about calling off her engagement.
I also think empathy is not always natural and you have to put yourself into someone else’s shoes to understand it (I have memories of not properly understanding people in high school that I know better now that I’ve experienced it and it happens time and time again). Now especially for someone like the prince who always had everything there for him, it’s increasingly difficult for him see himself in other people’s position. I hope he learns, I’m disappointed that it had to be the hard way.

Apologies for writing a whole essay on this manhwa but I just wanted to express how I feel. I’m not going to say this is the best manhwa I’ve ever read but I didn’t go downhill for me yet. Then again I’ve always been lenient with the anime/manga I watch/read.
