from what i remember, seth in egyptian mythology was trying to horus by getting him to sleep with him and put his semen in him to say, "look, there's my cum in his stomach, it wouldn't be there if he wasn't submissive to me" but got duped into eating it instead lettuce filled with horus jizz and had that shame set on him when it was extracted from his stomach
why does everyone think that isis is hesitating cos she wants to defend osiris? from the way im reading it, she's hesitating because she's scared to crush seth's sense of pride even further, essentially driving him to his own death (which was essentially his response this chapter). seth is a high and mighty character who can't stand being seen as less-than. read up on the mythology between seth and osiris, there's a deep seeded hatred for being a man treated as a woman in a relationship
