Do you have trouble sleeping?

Ren & Ene June 16, 2016 4:24 am

Just a random question I wanted to ask... It's just that I have problems sleeping *even though I'm only thirteen. And when I try sleeping, I wait and wait for the total of two hours when I finally give up and feel bored so I grab my phone and start reading... After that, when I actually try to sleep, I sleep. But on days when I don't to pick up my phone to read a bit, I just can't sleep. I'd stay up for hours and then, BOOM sunrise. And the next night, I still wouldn't sleep until four in the morning.

Your body is probably getting used to the fact of you reading before bed and staying up too late, so it's hard to sleep early. Or you could have insomnia, who knows?

tell your family I guess. ask them to bring you to doctor or psychiatrist. but yeah I agree with anon above that it is your body getting used to read before sleep.

Try drinking chamomile tea. I hope it helps. There are a lot of reasons for insomnia. It's better to go see a doctor.

I suffer from insomnia - and have all my life - sounds like you do too. If reading helps you sleep, keep doing it - a bedtime habit or routine is helpful. (or find other routines that work - good luck)

Hmmm, try like 15-20 minutes before you sleep get off ur electronic and do stuff like read a book or brush or hair or teeth. This helps ur brain cause it makes ur brain more tired or just relaxed. Maybe it will help if not then just try talking to ur family.

    Someone June 16, 2016 4:52 am

Oh yeah also don't try to suddenly sleep earlier since ur used to sleeping late, try sleeping only like 10-15 minutes earlier every few days to start getting used to sleeping earlier.

I saw something about teenagers and their sleeping cycle going all wonky because of the chemicals in their brain changing. So maybe don't be too worried about it, but still talk to your parents if it worries you that much. See if they think you need to see if Dr.

Actually, before I wasn't reading. Infact, I hadn't ever liked reading before this year and I'd usually find myself awake even before I started picking up the habit to read before sleeping. I usually find myself being too hyper sometimes *happens very little but gradually as I grew older, I'd find myself more emotional and more *hyper (maybe) than before.

Then I'm not too sure you might have to talk to ur family since the problem is being hyper. Well another way is some people can't sleep with a white noise playing like a fan or ocean waves or rain. But you should probably talk to ur family.

Thanks... But reading makes me sleepier, but it takes hours to fall asleep even if reading makes me feel relaxed.

You could try the white noise maybe something relaxing if you haven't tried

I tried that method, but since I'm scared to go to sleep alone *even if there's someone already sleeping next to me* if I fall asleep before them, I feel more secure, but since I stay up till like 3 AM or possibly the next morning, I don't want to bother anyone about that.

It's not really about being hyper. Sometimes, I'd probably feel insecure. *by the way, it's been raining a lot in the state that I live so I hear the sound of rain occasionally and it still doesn't really work.

I'm exactly like that! I fall asleep really late too I share a room with my brother luckily he sleeps at like 5-6 AM so I fall asleep first but recently he been sleeping in living room and earlier. I also can't sleep without the lights on since I get scared but since everyone is already asleep I have to turn it off. But I actually do understand you cause I do that too, I either watch YouTube or read manga until I'm really tired a could fall alsleep by closing my eyes. I've been trying to sleep earlier too.

Not too sure then I guess just try talking about it with ur family. Can't recall think of other solutions.

Yep. I sleep with my sister and we used to play a game for half an hour up to an hour, but since we stopped, I've had more of a hard time sleeping. But since my sister decided to sleep at earlier times, I can't sleep anymore.

I have insomnia and I'm far from being a teenager. Lol. Again as young as you are I don't think it's too much to worry about.
