I don’t know why people are thinking that she loves Kahil romantically. There’s literally no instance of that in story. She pities him and that’s been made clear so many times. She’s rescued many kids already so she seems him as just another one of those kids. I bet they will get romantically involved as they get older but by that time Kahil would be matured.
