I think you feel uneasy towards him because he neglected his child which is understandable that you feel that way. Because I know that even when he's got this trauma towards women but that doesn't mean he gotta treat his child, poorly, you know? It's like passing trauma to another due to his treatment towards Blanche
This is just so fucking disgusting. I really feel bad for many characters (not just this book) who are often called stupid, so lame, 'why isn't she standing up for herself', 'I wish she was more badass' etc. when the girl was fucking abused all her life. You think a person's trauma is so simple that it can go in when the king's wife suddenly acts nice. Yeah, you know she is a nice person cuz it's not even her anymore but another woman in her body. She has no clue what has happened to the king. The king has suffered the whole time. Sadly, though he may not hate Blanche, there are many who do cuz when they see the kid, he/she is reminded of the suffering they went through and the result of that and blatantly hate them or abandon them and I'm glad the king is not like that though he did neglect her.
No. If he treated her with love and care and then she went through the same thing he did (which he thinks is NORMAL) he'd be traumatizing her just like he was.
Blanche is also female. So even if his reaction was purely based on that and the fact she is a reminder of what happened to him his treatment of her is still completely understandable. He Isn't going beyond the traumatic reaction and taking his anger out on her in the slightest.
What do you mean no? lmao, I told the other person that them feeling uncomfortable towards the king is understandable since he treated his child poorly and that he's just giving his daughter a different kind of trauma of her own and him having trauma doesn't justify his neglect towards Blanche. Did you even read my comment carefully? Ghorl, read it again.
When people say women are better off alone without some man after experiencing a traumatic incident like the ML did here, what they're really saying is that the woman better not fall for the other person again or they'll pretty much claim the woman is 's*****' and deserved whatever happened to her. Victims don't have to react a specific way to get our 'approval'. But that's what *women* are told, most often.
And the king knows that Blanche is a child and has nothing to do with what her mother did. Like this was already established in the previous chapters. He has nothing against Blanche it's just he has the typical father trope in isekai shoujo that he's emotionally stunted towards his daughter. I'm just pointing out, that him, neglecting his child is still wrong.
Uhm, ghorly, I'm pointing out the double standards that is happening towards a man and a woman in this site. We already know the semantics that you're explaining, we're talking about when a man is said to have been raped, people gloss over that fact because he's not doing what they want him to do, like what's fucking happening with people trashing him for doubting mc. They literally said they think he's an asshole for not believing mc even knowing his traumatic past. That was literally the point, idk why you brought an entirely different topic into the table lmao
Also, I'm sorry but as long as he doesn't directly abuse Blanche he gets a pass with me. Psychological trauma is something that every person approaches in a different way, and whatever you need to do to be able to keep on functioning despite it, I applaud it, as long as you don't directly hurt other people. Blanche might miss her father's love but in the society she lives in, that is not really such an unseen thing. Aristocracy and royalty children usually are raised by nannies, and parental love hardly ever features in the equation. The fact he was rational enough to separate Blanche from the crime done to him in her favor and that not only does he not abuse her, but makes sure she is perfectly provided for and protected is commendable, especially if he was really raped when young like some spoilers are saying. I'm sorry but the "he's a shitty father" card doesn't roll here, because he's not even a shitty father. He's an imperfect human who is constantly scared and in a defensive state because his trauma is not only something he cannot get rid of, but something that gets reaffirmed every day of his life whenever somebody talks to him about taking another wife or having an heir. I wonder if the people insulting him can even imagine that, living with the constant knowledge that eventually you will be forced to relive your trauma probably more than once, or risk jeopardizing or even losing the life you have worked so hard to build.
Let me just say this to people in the comments trashing the king. The fact that ya'll are down playing his trauma because of his treatment towards the queen is fucking disgusting. Let me say this again, FUCKING DISGUSTING. The dude GOT FUCKING RAPED WHEN HE WAS A CHILD, but no, these people in the comments are whining why he's suspicious towards mc when the og queen did questionable shit towards him just so she can get him to fuck her and ya'll acting like it's his fault for being doubtful? He has his faults especially with her daughter, the child is still young and the mc is here to mend their relationship. I like how some of you can understand the og queen's motive of being an ass but not the king? Fucking disgusting the lot of you. I'm just so fucking angry and disgusted by the people in the comments.
