He became intrigued with the way she avoided him, more specifically how she seemed to be aware of things others weren’t about him (I.e. his miso phobia). The more conversations they had the more he realized she had changed and was planning something which also intrigued him. The more he properly talked with her instead of having her cling to him needlessly like she used to it was easier for him to actually get to know her. So I guess you could say curiosity killed the cat??

Can someone pls give me a recap on how the duke came to fall in love with the princess? I remember him saving her from her past abusive husband but other than that, nothing else. i really forgot how he came to like the princess ╥﹏╥
