I definitely understand that! He gives me that “if I can’t have him no one can” vibe & I don’t like how he tries to manipulate Taejoo. Or how he tries to play victim. But I’m gonna give him the benefit of doubt right now because to me these characteristics I pointed out could be traced back to insecurities & that’s a very relatable feeling. (Not making excuses for him though! Just understanding his feelings)
I honestly don’t dislike anyone in this manga. Sure I distrust Youngwoo because I feel like he’s an manipulator but even he has attachment issues that are relatable. And I probably shouldn’t say attachment more than insecurities because putting myself in his place I couldn’t imagine falling in love with somebody over 5 years just for all of our time to disappear because of a love connection that was considered gone.
Taejoo I sympathize with also because he really loved/ love Yoon. And to believe Yoon just disappeared for 5 years instead of being injured would hurt the pride more than anything. I understand him trying to move on and even though they have a heroic reason for why Yoon left it’s still something to consider as a partner. Especially because Yoon went straight back to the job that cost him 5 years of his life.
With that being said I sympathize with Yoon the most! I’m so proud of him trying to move on ‘ recognizing when he needs to stop a relationship that won’t benefit him in the end. I am rooting for him & Kwon. But I feel like Kwon needs to become more emotionally available and validate Yoon feelings more!
Long post but can’t wait to see what happens! I’m also okay if Yoon ends up alone for awhile! I definitely feel like he needs to truly heal from the trauma of everything!
