But when did she discover about thus power and how to use it?
She hasn't, my guess is that she is so powerful that her magic is passive. Meaning that maybe her magic works according to her wishes instantly instead of her needing to do a certain ritual or reciting something before it activating. I am pretty sure that she thought that the master of the tower canceled the girl's magic and that she won by pure luck.
