Don't feel bad. Even if he got a rewind, that does not mean he is forgiven and cleared of his sins. Especially since even the MC has memories of her past. I still hate him for doing the things he did in the past. I get that he wanted to protect his own people but in the end, when he married her and made her his wife, he should have started treating her as a part of those he needed to protect.
His actions that tormented and broke the MC even more is not excusable. Maybe he'll redeem himself in this new life, but as I see it, the pain he caused and the trauma is not something he can erase and ease by changing himself and doing the bare minimum he should have done before as a husband. The past may be in the past but the fact it happened and that the person who suffered the most remembers it means it is still a fresh wound.
I'm all up for redemption stories and those shit, but, I just want MC to live happily with Elle and move past everything. As I see it, it would be better for her to cut off everything that caused her pain and harm and heal herself in a place where she'll feel safe and comfortable. And if she ever chooses to forgive the ML and form a relationship with him, I wish she'll do it when she is truly better.
