With Reo's character, the author is trying to do 2 things, 1. Show that men being r@ped is not taken seriously( as can be seen with the country folk) 2. Show his lack of awareness and ignorance. However, given the context of the story, it makes no fucking sense and it just makes the issue seem like a joke. This is a dark comedy, of course, there's going to be dark humor and satirical jokes HOWEVER r@pe is not funny. The joke the author is trying to make is almost like a gap moe. Reo is so naive dumb and "innocent" to the point that he ends up doing fucked up shit, his outward appearance and actions directly contrast his intent and thought process. This is supposed to be the joke. However, for the reader, it just ends up being insanely uncomfortable to see because of the fact we are getting these heavily drawn out and very detailed r@pe scenes. If the author wanted to get the idea of "opposite personality and appearance" across they should've done what they did with the flower crown. Have Reo do nice gestures but it's taken the wrong way because of his appearance and the stigma around him. This would've made him much more likable and less of a fucking weirdo. Remember Impact> Intent. Just because reo doesn't mean any harm that doesn't make it any less traumatic. Idk his character makes me so uncomfortable and I feel like the same effect could've been reached without r@pe. Watching him is like seeing a psychopathic murderer defend their actions.
I agree, harada really romanticizes rape in basically all her comics lol. I really love her art and her dark plots, but I think the darkest thing about all her comics is how much she normalizes uke falling in love with their rapist lol

Yeah it is a rather unfortunate trend in her manga but I do appreciate that she does at LEAST paint it as awful and twisted as it is.
It is just Harada. More like caricatures. They usually poke fun at things to get attention on the issues. There are so many of such in different types of magazines. This is in manga form. Some stories are over the top but main trend in their plots ars like this.

Nah, I think she's low key into the rape tbh, she fetishes it a lot. But I don't mind I still enjoy her work

I think the same thing. She draws it in too much detail for me to think otherwise. Also she has multiple doujinshi where the plot is rape, so... yeeeaahhh
