The adults were the problem basically. So every character is like that because of their parents influence and on how they were raised. So you cant really hate characters like lart and adelai, but at the same time you cant really hate the emperor because he chose his "career" which i honestly cant hate him for( to a certain degree because we have to consider the fact that he didnt even give blondina's mom closure)
