I think i also read that review and I think they mentioned at the start that there's a second novel so their complaint about lack of romance no longer stands

In the third (current) volume, this problem is brought up. Aresh is completely invested in the relationship and Kondou is fond of him too but the thought of eventually returning to his home-world has made him reluctant to fully commit. Σ( ￣□￣||)
Aww.. Aresh really needs to work double time.
Someone who read the whole novel in Japanese reviewed it and said that..
In the end, Kondou treats Aresh just like his savior and he isn't as attracted to Aresh as Aresh is madly in love to him.. Aresh, you really need to work hard!
