Hmm No. It wasn't because he looked like her, it was because she was being fed all these lies about how she's a curse and how she brings bad luck to the people she's close to, this woman was blamed for her mother's death even though she had nothing to do with it and was also a victim, unfortunately when EVERYONE starts saying you are cursed you start to believe it too, because if EVERYONE is saying the same thing there must be some truth to it... so when she gave birth, she was afraid that she's gonna hurt her child because of her "bad nature"/"curse" and was reluctant to cary him or touch him, her father and everyone around her basically damaged her psych and made her develop severe mental illness where she couldn't touch her child.
Even so, that doesn't make her a reliable narrator, or point of view because again, she's not mentally well and her perception was distorted. Like please, read my spoiler again when I literally said she's not mentally well and with all the trauma she recieved. Literally, your comment is just the longer version of my spoiler which is condensed.
This is from Novel Updates spoiler so yeah:
" Throughout her pregnancy (and after) she never once told the child she loved it and her only concern was that it must resemble the ML and not her and frequently told her baby bump this. She had the child taken away from her because she wouldn't touch him, wash him or even feed the child and left it to the nanny to do all of this. All she would do was stare at the child. Whilst she may of loved the child, she was completely incapable of taking care of it and it would have died in her care if the servants hadn't intervened.
Next in the case of the old fiancee, the FL overhears the servants talking about how the ML was still visiting her (likely done intentionally within earshot of her as its clear the servants don't like her). This provokes the FL into confronting the woman and telling her to stay away and the fiancee tells her that its her who stole her position. The fact that the FL went to the old fiancee infuriates the ML as it wasn't her place to do that and he told her wouldn't take any other partner other than his wife or have another child because he's well aware how the battle for succession destroys a brothers relationship.. ie what happened with his own brother. She then goes into premature labour from this confrontation.
After the child is born and she isn't taking care of him andthey forcibly separate her from him and move her outside the main house to cool off. However, it seems her mental progresses and she falls ill and dies."
She actually cared for her child on her previous life she couldn't take care of him because of what her father said that anyone whose beside her will have misfortune thats why she couldn't do anything at that time and she actually wanna see elle again but was stopped by the duke thats why that happened
Maybe the spoiler was wrong or the novel is different from the story? I don’t recall this webtoon adaption ever saying that the duchess pushed away her child because they looked similar. In fact they don’t even look like Ellie looks like his father. I get that the webtoon sometimes differs from the novel tho

Now I remember, that's why the duchess pushed away her son in the first life because he looks like her, that's why she neglected him because she thought she's gonna be thrown out. Again she wasn't mentally well, with all the trauma that she recieved. It is said that the duchess is an unreliable narrator because she left out a lot of parts like not actually caring for child in the first timeline.
